Technical Information: Technical Information: From the 1990 Brunswick Billiards Marquis sell sheet. Bold, massive, yet elegant design in beautiful antique white oak guaranteed to enhance any décor. Specially designed color coordinated, leather Brunswick signature pockets enhance the overall appeal of this newest member of Brunswick’s quality product line. The Marquis will be a cherished piece of furniture for generations and will surely be the focal point of the game room for every family member because of its distinctive styling and superior playability. A massive 2 ¼" thick full-length center beam, two full-length 1 ½" thick side beams, two 1 ½" thick end beams and four cross supports capped by laminated wood slate frame pads assures that the playing surface will remain as perfectly true and level as the day it was installed. The Marquis is available as an 8’ home size table with optional ¾" or 1" thick precision-machined slate, or in a professional 9’ size with 1inch thick precision-machined, framed slate. The Marquis features Brunswick’s exclusive Super Speed® molded canvas-backed cushions-the standard of the industry. Machine nuts and bolts are used throughout for maximum strength and stability. Cloth: Billiard cloth is optional; however, Brunswick recommends a professional wool/nylon blend to assure excellent playability. Base Frame: Base frame is composed of two full-length side beams and full-length 2 ¼ inch thick center beam for lasting strength. Four cross supports provide additional rigidity. Rails: Oak rails are supported by and bolted through the slate for maximum rigidity. Specially designed floating nut plate design allows rail to be precisely positioned and permanently pulled down to the slate. Cushions: Super Speed® canvas-backed cushions, the standard of the industry, assure maximum accuracy, true ball rebound and consistent playability. Finish: Handsome antique white furniture finish enhances natural oak beauty. Pockets: All pocket openings made to exacting industry standards. Leather net pockets are #6 irons with antique white matching finish. Sights: Pearlized inlaid sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000 of an inch for accurate play. Slate: Three-piece precision ground slate provides a permanent level playing surface. Slate is precision-machined level to within 10/1000 of an inch and extends underneath the rails for consistent playability.
