This is a stock certificate for the J. M. Brunswick & Balke Company, certifying that "the firm of J. M. Brunswick & Balke Co. are the owners of Four hundred and forty shares of one hundred dollars each in the Capital Stock of The J. M. Brunswick & Balke Co." The certificate is dated July 1, 1879, and is signed by A. F. Troescher, secretary & treasurer, and J. M. Brunswick, president, with the official seal of the company imprinted in the paper. On the backside of the certificate is another, granting the 440 shares to Julius Balke on May 26, 1880. This document is essentially identical to another in the collection; see 2011.0513. |
