Summary |
Technical Information: From the 2000 Brunswick Billiards Mission sell sheet: The Mission table takes its inspiration, and its name, from Mission furniture and the Arts & Crafts movement. With the clean, unornamented lines of the Shaker tradition, this table features distinctive corbels, set into massive support posts resting on two base trestles that are connected by a broad bridge stretcher. The Arts and Crafts movement originated in London in 1888, inspired by the pre-industrial rural design style of William Morris. Arts & Crafts is known for honesty of expression in workmanship and materials. Tables in the Arts & Crafts style are true to their inspiration: simplicity, honesty and utility. They favor pure lines over baroque ornamentation and lighter stains to accentuate the beauty of the wood grain. DESIGN Brunswick’s stunning Mission table is the truest representation of the Mission style available in a billiard table. It anchors the motif of any room in which it is placed, stating simple, tasteful elegance and functional beauty. This unique design has even received a patent (No. D408, 488). Mission cherry-finish tables are constructed of exotic Brazilian amapa, while Mission oak-finish tables are constructed of quarter-sewn oak. Both tables are available in eight- and nine-foot models. A wall cue rack has been designed to complement this table. PERFORMANCE The Mission table presents faithful design aesthetics in the context of supreme engineering and superb performance and playability-hallmarks of the Brunswick nameplate. The table features Brunswick’s exclusive SuperSpeed® Cushions for extremely accurate rebound angles, patented Cross Bolt construction, Brunswick-certified premium slate, and High Performance Nut Plate construction for lasting stability. As a result, balls play truer on Brunswick tables than on any other make. Backed by a Lifetime Ownership Warranty. 2000 Material specifications, Mission cherry finish: Rails, aprons, legs: Amapa Baseframe: Curubixa Sights: Mother of pearl High performance nut plates and dovetails: Yes 2000 Material specifications, Mission oak finish: Rails, aprons, legs: Quartersawn white oak Baseframe: Curubixa Sights: Mother of Pearl High performanfe nut plates and dovetails: Yes |
