Technical Information: From the 1978 Brunswick Billiards Prestige Oak sell sheet: (Offered with slate only from 1986 to 2002.) Dramatic furniture styling and oak construction make the PRESTIGE OAK billiard table on of the highest quality and most attractive billiard tables you’ll find anywhere. Rails, aprons and legs are all constructed of solid oak, and are distressed finished for an antique look. Three-piece, 1-inch slate is matched, registered, and doweled for a permanent level playing surface. BRUNSCO NO. 1® 100% wool billiard cloth and SUPER SPEED® cushions assure superior playability and consistency. The PRESTIGE OAK table is accented with brass finished stretchers joining the leg assemblies. Matching oak stretchers are optional. Finish: All wood is hand-rubbed through 15 steps to achieve a rich, distressed, antique oak finish. Legs and Aprons: Solid oak and handcrafted to represent the finest in furniture workmanship. Base Frame: Solid hardwood is used for maximum strength, and is kiln-dried to resist warping. Base frame extends to the extremities of the slate and beneath the rails for maximum support. Rails: Solid oak rails are supported by and bolted through the slate for maximum rigidity. Specially designed floating nut plate allows rail to be precisely positioned and permanently pulled down to the slate. Cushions: BRUNSWICK® SUPER SPEED® canvas backed cushions are the standard of the industry, providing true ball rebound and roll. Sights: Brass finished rail sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000 of an inch for accurate play. Cloth: Comes with standard green BRUNSCO NO. 1® 100% virgin wool bed and cushion cloth. Pockets: Leather-covered three-iron pockets with antique finished metal trim. All pocket webs are genuine leather, regulation depth. Pocket openings meet exacting industry standards.
