Summary |
Technical Information: From the 1981 Brunswick Billiards sell sheet on the Golden Oak: Classic antique styling reminiscent of Brunswick's earlier designs is revived in the Golden Oak. Solid oak rails and legs, and oak veneer aprons feature a hand-rubbed golden oak finish providing extraordinary woodgrain depth and clarity. Traditional leather net pockets and decorative suede fringe enhance the table's antique styling. Three-piece matched and registered one-inch slate or 1 1/4" Brunstone provides a permanent level playing surface. Cloth is optional. However, Brunswick recommends a professional blend of wool/nylon billiard cloth to assure superior playability. The Golden Oak is available in 8' models in traditional pocket style only. Machine nuts and bolts are used for maximum stability. Finish: Handsome golden oak furniture finish for beauty and durability. Rails: Solid oak rails are supported by and bolted through the bed for maximum rigidity. The floating nut plate design allows the rail to be precisely positioned and permanently pulled down to the slate. Base frame: Base Frame is composed of two full-length side beams and full length center beam for lasting strength. Two cross slate supports provide additional rigidity. Construction. Solid and laminated wood construction gives superior strength and rigidity. All wood is kiln dried to resist warpage. Cushions; Centennial Cushions are precision molded to assure maximum accuracy and true ball rebound. Sights: Pearlized inlaid sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000ths of an inch for accurate play. Cloth: Billiard cloth is optional; however, Brunswick recommends a professional wool/nylon blend to assure excellent playability. Pockets: All pocket openings made to exacting industry standards. Leather net pockets are accented with brown suede fringe. Bed: Three piece matched and registered one inch full sized slate or 1 1/4" Brunstone. Slate and Brunstone are precision machined level to 10/1000ths of an inch and extends beneath the rails for consistent playability. Last listed manufacturer suggested retail price in 1983: $840.00. |
