Technical Information: From the 2002 Amherst (Contender by Brunswick) sell sheet: With its graceful lines, the Amherst lends an air of refinement to any room. This traditionally styled table is constructed with an eight-foot arched base frame and carbed ball and claw legs. Featuring traditional pockets and pearlized diamond shaped rail sights, the Amherst is available in an array of finish options include oak, traditional cherry and Original Mahogany. The Contender is manufactured with many of the same construction features found in the legendary Brunswick tables. Featuring the Brunswick Lifetime Ownership Warranty, you can depend on your Contender table for years of family fun and recreation. All Contender tables meet or exceed BCA specifications. Features Brunswick's exclusive TruSpeed cushion rubber, recognized the world over for high quality rebound, accuracy and consistency. Brunswick's High Performance Nut Plates bolt the slate directly to the rails, improving playability by allowing the two units to perform as one. This system handles 70% more torque than the standard "t-nuts" used by most table manufacturers. Machine nuts and bolts are used throughout to allow disassembly and reassembly, yet retain the table's rigidity and stability. Contender tables use Brunswick certified premium slate, precision machined and diamond honed for optimum playability.
