Technical Information: From the 1994 Brunswick Billiards Madison II sell sheet: · The Madison II table’s handsome, chiseled features and beautifully beveled legs all add up to a classic elegance that bespeaks Brunswick’s tradition of excellence. · The Madison II table is completely constructed of exotic solid hardwood. The table’s massive base frame boasts a unique, newly engineered construction that has been computer engineered and laboratory tested for improved rigidity and stability. · Brunswick’s patented Super Speed® cushions afford the ultimate in accuracy, true ball rebound and speed. · The Madison II table is available in 7’ and 8’ home models and an 8’ professional model in traditional pocket style. Rails: Solid Acoita Cavalla hardwood rails are supported by and bolted through the slate for maximum rigidity. Exclusively designed nut plate system exerts maximum torque and minimum vibration and allows rails to be precisely positioned and permanently compressed to the slate. Finish: Table is finished in a rich gloss to enhance the natural beauty of the solid Acoita Cavalla hardwood. Finish is a multi-step process, quality controlled for gloss, color consistency, richness, hardness, and adhesion. Brunswick finishes are renowned for their beauty and durability and are considered among the best in the industry. Construction: Table is completely constructed of a solid hardwood called Acoita Cavalla, which means strong as a horse in Portuguese. All wood is kiln-dried, stress-relieved, and humidity controlled to resist warping and ensure maximum rigidity. Base Frame: Sills and cross supports are 1 3/16 inch solid Acoita Cavalla hardwood. Base frame is a unique, newly engineered construction that utilizes heavy-gauge corner brackets for extra reinforcement between legs and base frame. Solid hardwood 1 ¾ inch thick slate supports, which are glued and then screwed to the sills, have been added for even greater stability. Legs: Elegantly carved legs are solid Acoita Cavalla wood. Beautiful, beveled contours of legs are repeated in aprons and side sills. Cloth: Cloth is optional. Brunswick recommends a professional blend of wool/nylon billiard cloth for excellent playability. Slate: Three-piece 1inch framed slate is available with the 8’ home and 8’ professional models. Three-piece ¾ inch or 1 inch unframed slate is available in the 7’ home model. All slate is diamond honed and precision leveled to within 10/1000 of an inch and extends to the outer edges of the rails for maximum stability and consistent playability. Cushions: Super Speed® canvas-backed cushions, the standard of the industry, assure maximum accuracy, true ball rebound, and consistent playability. Sights: Pearlized inlaid sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000 of an inch for accurate play. Pockets: #6 pockets are covered in handsome black leather with color-coordinated leather netting, suede fringe, and elegant satin scalloped braiding.
