Summary |
Technical Information: From the 1969 Brunswick Billiard Supplies catalog, page 2: Traditional elegance with a distinctive touch of modern design. The sweeping contour leg design and the Gold Crown-inspired ball box add that modern ingredient in this handsome new table. Styling further enhances its appeal, for it can harmoniously blend with any interior ... traditional or modern. Beautiful walnut grain Formica rails protect against mars, burns and stains. Buffed aluminum trim molding and corner castings are anodized for maintenance ease. Aprons are durable walnut grain vinyl laminated to high density particle board for rugged use. Life rubber cushions are covered with popular Monarch green cloth. The playing surface is the finest matched and registered 1" slate available. From the 1968 Brunswick Continental Billiard Table Specification sheet: Legs: Two contoured legs with 5/8" thick particle board facings are internally reinforced with hardwood structural members. A 7 7/8" deep x 1 3/4" wide leg stretcher anchors the two legs. Base frame: Consists of two laminated structural side beams and 2 laminated structural end beams 6" deep by 3 1/2" thick. Five poplar cross members are supported by plywood saddles, and attached to structural beams. Rails and Cushions: Rails are constructed of a solid hardwood core with wood grain pattern mar resistant Melamine surfaced laminated facings with an aluminum edge molding. Rails are 1 3/4" x 4 1/2". Standard live rubber Superspeed Cushions bonded to each rail. 17 contrasting sights are inlaid in proper positions in all rails. Slate: Matched set of 3 pieces, 1 1/16" thick, mounted on a 3/4" thick solid poplar frame. Aprons: Side and end aprons are wood grained vinyl on high density particle board and extend completely around table directly beneath rail sections. Apron corners are mold poplar surfaced with durable lacquer finish. Ball storage rack: Poplar ball storage rack with hardboard backing. Divided into four compartments with room to accommodate 22 balls. Receiver box for gully tables: An extra poplar compartment is located beneath the ball storage rack on gully tables. It is connected directly with gully track. Corner and side castings: Castings of aluminum are buffed to a mirror bright finish and anodized, and are of the same contour as rails. Castings are attached to end of rail with angle nut plates. Pockets: Molded one piece rubber. Gullies: Six molded rubber gully pocket pads fit into gullies constructed of vinyl coated steel rod. Included: 2 metal bridge hooks, two pair of score markers mounted flush in the foot rail; all exposed wood surfaces have a lacquer finish. Height to top of rail: 31 3/4". Height to top of playing surface: 30". 1969 Manufacturer suggested billiard room prices: 8' pocket: $730; 8' gully: $820. 9' pocket: $770. 9' gully: $860 |
