Technical Information: From the 2003 Brunswick Billiards Astoria sell sheet: The Astoria showcases refined, traditional styling along with the superior craftsmanship of hand-inlaid details of burled maple. This table is the embodiment of ageless beauty and impeccable style. Traditional styles are 17th and 18th Century interpretations of the design and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome. Displaying restraint, harmony, proportion and reason, the grand Greco-Roman style uses sparse ornamentation, chaining, beaded moldings, and large turned posts. Using hardwoods such as cherry and oak, traditional furniture represented the art of rich ancient cultures that flourished long before the Dark Ages, and was the basis of pre-industrial European style. The legendary quality of Brunswick craftsmanship truly distinguishes the Astoria. The Astoria also features hand-inlaid craftsmanship which showcases Brunswick's heritage. Brunswick first produced hand-inlaid tables from 1870 through the 1880s, and then again from 1911 to 1930. This table has unique geometric inlays of burled maple. With a classic arched base and impressive ball and claw, Queen Anne, and ram's head leg options, the Astoria is impressive in Original Mahogany. Featuring pearlized diamond rail sights, the Astoria is available in an 8' model.
