Summary |
Technical Information: From the 1995 Brunswick Paragon Oak sell sheet: Model LG The Paragon Oak bespeaks the robust and rugged character of oak. The table's strong lines are crisply sculpted with repeated flutings and carved panel moldings, creating a classic look that also blends harmoniously with contemporary tastes. The Paragon Oak is constructed of solid oak and oak veneer over hardwood and features Brunswick's exclusive Super Speed cushions, long considered the standard of the industry. This table is available in 8' home, 8' pro and 9' pro models. A six leg option is also available. Machine nuts and bolts used throughout for maximum stability. Available in drop pocket style only. Rails: Oak capped solid hardwood rails are supported by and bolted through the slate for maximum rail rigidity. Exclusive floating nut plate construction is specially designed for maximum torque and minimum vibration. Floating Nut Plate: Brunswick's exclusive rail construction features three threaded metal floating nut plates positioned inside each of the six rails through a narrow mortised slot. This allows the rail to be precisely positioned and tightened down to the slate with far more torque than other methods. This is crucial for excellent performance. Finish: Brunswick's beautiful furniture finish is considered among the very best in the industry. Tough and very durable, this multi-step finish brilliantly enhances the natural beauty of oak. Due to the natural grain of wood, tables will vary in their wood grain patterns and color gradations. Base Frame: Side and end sills 1 1/2 inch thick are constructed of solid hardwood with oak veneer and oak trim. Cross supports feature unique dovetailed construction for the ultimate in rigidity. Machine nuts and bolts are used throughout for maximum stability and longevity. Cushions: Brunswick's exclusive Super Speed canvas backed cushions are precision molded to assure maximum accuracy and true ball rebound. Special canvas is meticulously monitored for consistent weight and weave. Th canvas is vulcanized to the top surface of the rail to assure that the angular rebound is consistent throughout the entire playing surface of the rail, regardless of the speed of the ball. This construction dramatically impacts performance of the cushion. Legs: Carved decorative fluting and moldings enhance the legs of solid hardwood box construction with oak veneer. Sights: Mother of pearl inlaid sights have a maximum tolerance of 30/1000 of an inch for accurate play. Cloth: Brunswick recommends a professional wool/nylon blend to assure excellent playability. Pockets: Handsome net pockets are leather wrapped over #6 irons. All pocket openings are manufactured to meet or exceed exacting industry standards. Slate: Three piece diamond honed slate is precision-machined to within 10/1000 of an inch and extends underneath the rails for consistent play. Slate is one inch thick framed. Photo: Manual: |
